Jaquet Droz’s Opens its First Parisian Shop on Rue de la Paix

Paris houses the world’s most lavish fashions and this fall, the well-renowned Parisian street, Rue de la Paix, adds yet another distinguished name to their selective line of fine shops. In September, Jaquet Droz inaugurated its first Parisian boutique at 8 Rue de la Paix. The famous Swiss watchmakers opened the first Jaquet Droz workshop in Paris 225 years ago, making this first Parisian debut much more significant.
Having a new address on a street epitomized by fine craftsmanship and excellence, both the exterior and interior are visually stunning. The boutique is set in black, grey and enamel tones that contrast incredibly well with the matte and glossy surfaces of the furniture. The shop has one particular design trait evident throughout the whole interior, the number eight, Jaquet Droz’s favorite number. Eight being a curvy and round number, lends its shape as inspiration for the interior decor.
“This delicate balance brings movement and a sensuous quality to the sobriety of the architecture. It also illustrates, once again, the brand’s remarkable capacity to adapt the tastes of each period traversed over the course of the centuries,” notes the President of Montres Jaquet Droz, Florence Ollivier.
The creator and founder, Pierre Jaquet Droz was always attracted to the French capital. In 1785, the first workshop was introduced and in 21st century Jaquet Droz launched the “Elegans Paris” Collection, entirely influenced by the glamour and femininity of Parisian fashion. Jaquet Droz chose this setting as a return to where it all began. The building that houses the newest Jaquet Droz shop dates to the days of Baron Haussman, and has a contemporary design with neoclassical beauty of the late 19th century architecture. The new Jaquet Droz address, Number 8 Rue de la Paix pays tribute to classic French fashion.
